The first National Millet Day was celebrated in Diktel on Friday. On this occasion, oratorical art, respect to farmers and millet dishes have been exhibited.

Vipsa Khanal of Saraswati Mavi won first place, Pratap Khatri of Mount Everest Boarding School second, Pranisha Rai of Shitla Mavi Khalle third and Prajjwal Khadka of Jalpa Mavi Jalpa won the elocution competition held on the importance of millet. Among them, the first runner-up got two thousand five hundred, the second runner-up two thousand two hundred fifty, the third runner-up two thousand and the consolation runner-up got a certificate with cash of one thousand seven hundred and fifty rupees.

Similarly, under the Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality alternative crop incentive program, farmers who cultivate onion, mustard and beekeeping have been honored.

According to this, three lakh nineteen thousand seven hundred seventy five rupees were distributed to 44 onion farmers, two hundred thirty one thousand nine hundred rupees to 15 beekeepers and ninety eight thousand five hundred twenty rupees to 17 mustard producers, according to Tejprakash Jaisi, head of the agriculture branch of the municipality.

The program was completed by the joint project of Agricultural Knowledge Center Khotang and Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality. Cakes, Pancakes, Roti, Masham, Kheer, Biscuits, Cookies, Tongba, Raksi, Nimki etc. were exhibited in the program.
