After five dengue cases were reported in Taplejung in the month of July alone, the District Administration Office has issued instructions to conduct mandatory sanitation campaigns every Friday morning in the offices of government and associations, organizations and the surrounding areas.
Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma said that this campaign must be run for the two months of July and August during the orientation program on prevention of dengue infection held at the district administration office on Wednesday afternoon. The chief district officer also instructed the head of the office to send a video of cleanliness.
Sharma also informed that it will be started on Thursday morning from the armed police check point at the entrance of the headquarters Fungling helipad. Since Taplejung is not free from the risk of dengue infection, a pledge has been made to prevent it through the activism of people's representatives, political parties, and ordinary citizens.
