69-year-old Rajkumar Rai of Sakela Rural Municipality-5 Mattimbirta has died due to the beating of his own nephew. He died due to the beating of 31-year-old Newson Rai.

Rai, who was beaten up around 7 o'clock on Saturday night, died on Sunday morning, according to Jeevan Khatri, ward president of Sakela rural municipality-5 Mattimbirta.

Rai, who was injured in the beating, was brought to District Hospital Diktel for treatment. Sushant Mishra, information officer of the district police office, said that he died around four in the morning during treatment.

Newson, who was beaten, was arrested at the scene and the investigation has been increased, police said. The actual cause of the dispute has not yet been revealed.
