After the water receded, vehicles started moving in the Henwa river

As the water level in the river has decreased, vehicles have started to cross Henwa river under Panchthar section of Mechi highway, which has been blocked for four days.

After the flood-damaged diversion has not been repaired, drivers have been taking risks and driving their vehicles and transport vehicles across the Henwa River.

From Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday, more than 100 vehicles crossed Hewa, said Dambar Mishra, Field Supervisor of Hewa Khola, Road Division, Ilam.

Two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles are still not able to cross the river. However, the motorcycles and scooters that were stopped in turns were carried on tractors and made to cross.

In the afternoon, there was partial traffic in Henwa River, due to security risks and other reasons, the police has requested not to put vehicles and transport vehicles in the river in the evening.

District administration office Panchthar has asked the general public to be cautious as there is a risk of flooding again due to the rain falling in open spring areas.
