An infant who was airlifted from Diktel and sent to Kathmandu for treatment has died.

The baby, who was born by operation at District Hospital Diktel on Monday, died in the afternoon during treatment at Kanti Children's Hospital in Maharajganj, Kathmandu.

The second child of Januka Khatri and Sarvakumar Khatri of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-15 Vijaykhark Mala died at Kanti Children's Hospital. The head of the hospital where the infant was sent to Kathmandu due to complications in breathing. Rupesh Sangraula said. He said that she was sent to Kathmandu by helicopter of the Nepalese army under the air rescue program for pregnant and post-partum women.

"The child was taken out through surgery after the child was not in pain even after one week of birth," he said.
