The Upper Kabeli hydropower project of 28 MW capacity has been the 'break through' of the tunnel. According to the project, the 1772 meter long tunnel route has been broken. It belongs to Sirijungha and Sidingwa Rural Municipality of Taplejung.
The main affected areas in the 5 km area from intake to Happukhola end are Sirijunga-1 Sinam, 2 Ambegudin and 4 Telok. Similarly, Mehele and Limbudin of Sidingwa are included. Telok will have a power house at Intake and Sinam.
