Kimathanka is an important port of the country: Energy Minister Khadka

What you should know

Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has said that Kimathanka canal is the most important canal in the country. He said that the government is paying attention to this because this checkpoint will run for 12 months.

He also said that the current government has given priority to the Kimathanka border and moved forward. During the inauguration of the Irrigation and Water Resources Management Project Office in Chainpur of Sankhuwa Sabha on Saturday, he said that the Chinese government is also interested in the Kimathanka crossing.

``China's support will be received in this crossing,'' he said, ``This crossing will come into operation after the road is connected. Trinational relations should be viewed with special importance. He said that since the Indian government has invested in large hydropower projects in the district, it should move forward by maintaining relations with both neighboring countries.

The irrigation and water resources management project opened in Chainpur will increase the agricultural production by making sustainable use of water resources. "Despite having resources and means, Sankhuwasabha was lagging behind," he said, "The budget has been allocated according to public demand." The ministry has done 80 percent of the work in the field of energy.'
