3 million loss in Kanchenjunga tourism festival

The organizing committee of the Kanchenjunga Diamond Festival, which was held last May, suffered a loss of 30 lakh rupees.

Announcing the expenditure details through a press conference on Saturday, Chairman of Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Management Council and Coordinator of Hirak Mahotsav Organizing Committee, Khagendra Phembu Limbu said that the State Tourism Ministry did not provide Rs. Fembu said that there is a need to appeal to charitable organizations for insufficient funds. 

According to Fembu, 1 crore 8 lakh 44 thousand rupees have been spent on the festival. He said that the collection was only 77 lakh 50 thousand. According to Fembu, 11 lakh 22 thousand rupees have been spent on community mobilization and sanitation, 12 lakh 50 thousand rupees on festival program transport management, and 6 lakh 5 thousand rupees on distribution of appreciation letters. 

Similarly, 13 lakh 15 thousand rupees were spent on sports programs, 16 lakh 41 thousand rupees on cultural programs and exhibitions, 4 lakh 89 thousand rupees on festival publicity, 4 lakh 20 thousand rupees on photo exhibition, 5 lakh 13 thousand rupees on promotional material, 4 lakh 44 thousand rupees on the use of local and national media, 13 lakh 2 thousand rupees on welcoming guests, 12 lakh 85 thousand rupees on event venue preparation and 4 lakh 52 thousand rupees on minimum infrastructure expansion at the event venue.

Prosperous Pahad Nepal has contributed 2 million, Investment Bank 4 million, World Wildlife Fund Nepal 5 million, National Nature Conservation Fund 3 million, Red Panda Network 1 million, Crystal Power Development Pvt Ltd 10 million, Tamor Energy Pvt Ltd 7 million and River Side Hydro Energy 3 million. 

Similarly, Snow Rivers Limited has contributed 5 lakh, Hilton Hydro Energy 3 lakh, Remit Hydro Limited 5 lakh, Nepal Hydro Venture Pvt Ltd 5 lakh, Union Hydro Power Limited 2 lakh. Phembu said that Sirijanga Rural Municipality contributed 2 lakh, Pathibhara Yangwarak Rural Municipality 1 lakh and Phattanglung Rural Municipality - 5 Tapethok, 6 Lelep and 7 Olangchungola at the rate of 50 thousand. 

The festival was held in Lelep, which is 5 hours away from the capital, Fungling. Fembu said that when there is a program in a village outside the headquarters, the transportation is more and the cost is high due to transportation. 

The program organized on the occasion of the 70th year of Kanchanjunga mountain climbing was also held at Lelep in Taplejung, the British Embassy in Kathmandu and also in the UK. The Kanchenjunga conservation area has said that Kanchenjunga has been widely publicized in the country and abroad and this will help in the growth of tourism.
