President of Congress Khotang Bishnu Kumar Rai has been suspended.
He was suspended from party membership for one year for not supporting the official candidate of the party and the candidate supported by the party in the 2079 state and House of Representatives elections.
The meeting of Congress Central Disciplinary Committee on June 17, 2082 has submitted a letter suspending Rai from the membership of Congress for one year in accordance with Clause 1 (a) (b) and (d) and Clause 8 (e) of Article 34 of the Constitution of Congress 2017 (with amendments) on June 25. It is mentioned in the letter that the disciplinary committee has issued an explanation based on the available evidence as the answer to Rai's explanation was not satisfactory.
Rai has said that because the party wronged him in the 2079 election, he is standing against it in the election.
