7 passengers were injured in an auto accident in Dhankuta Municipality-9 Belhara on Friday afternoon. According to the police, an auto number 2H 5567, which was going from Belhara to Dhankuta Bazar, went out of control and the accident occurred.
In the accident, 61-year-old Nirmala Basnet of Dhankuta-9 Belhara, 33-year-old Renuka Neupane, 17-year-old David Bick, 44-year-old Basant Bahadur Purbe of Janakpur-14 of Dhanusha, 50-year-old Ramesh Dulal of Kathmandu-26, 20-year-old Devi Bik of Kanepokhari-5 of Morang were injured.
The injured are being treated at Dhankuta Hospital. The auto driver, 42-year-old Jitendra Bastola of Dhankuta-9, has been arrested, said DSP Omprakash Khanal, District Police Spokesperson. It is assumed that the car accident happened because it was carrying more passengers than its capacity.
