A person has been arrested in Dharan for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl.
District Police Office Dharan arrested 49-year-old laborer Khajindra Rai from Dharan-17 on the charge of sexual abuse of a girl on Friday and made it public.
On Wednesday 17th Baisakh, a 13-year-old girl of Dharan-16 was arrested and made public after the accused Rai sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in a multilingual school.
Rai, whose identity was not revealed in the complaint, was arrested from his home on Thursday evening after his identity was revealed during the investigation, Dharan DP Prakash Javegu said.
Two months after the incident, after a dispute arose about the under-construction police station building near the school, the incident came to the media after the local community, including the ward president Murari Bhattarai, revealed the incident.
According to DSP Jawegu, even though the news came out in the media, since the victim filed a complaint only on Thursday, he was immediately arrested and the district court extended the investigation. He said, 'Detailed details of the incident have not yet arrived, we are in the process of preliminary investigation of the incident.'
