More than 54,000 expired consumables and other goods were seized and destroyed during the market monitoring conducted in Diktel market on Friday.
From Hatdanda through Ratnapark Kirat Chowk to Alchhedhunga in various shops, expired consumables and other items worth 54 thousand 135 rupees were seized and destroyed. The joint team of District Administration Office, Tax Office, Household and Small Industries Office, Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality, Khotang Industry and Commerce Association has monitored.
During the monitoring, Sprite, Dew, Pepsi, Rumpam, Currant Noodles, Khukuri Oil, Pani Puri Masala, Chatpate Masala, Sekuwa Masala, Thukpa, Pasta, Cumin, Papad, Atta, Kurumure, Chips, Powdered Chillies and other expired consumables were destroyed, said Santosh Bhattarai, Information Officer of Household and Small Industries Office, Khotang. Assistant Chief District Officer Sagar Sah has said that the recovered items were destroyed by making a bond.
"Due to the effect of regular monitoring and increased awareness among the general public, only a few expired goods have been recovered," he said, "Monitoring is being intensified even in rural areas including Sadarmukam."
