The builders who have stalled the 50-bed building under construction of District Hospital Khotang have been instructed to attend the construction site within three days.
Although an agreement was made to complete by 24th December 2080, as the building has not yet been constructed, instructions have been given to attend the construction site by 13th June 2080.
According to the decision of Wednesday's all-party meeting organized by the District Hospital Management Committee, Bishnu Budhathoki of Shyamsunder Construction Company, Baburam Katwal of Nepal Phulbari Construction Company and Khadanand Paudel of Ram Sagar Construction Company involved in the construction were instructed to attend within three days. The construction companies signed an agreement with Okhaldhunga, an intensive urban and building construction project on 24th June 2078, at a cost of 229 million 47 thousand 92 rupees.
After repeatedly extending the deadline, the tower has to be treated after the construction is stalled. Considering this problem, the hospital management committee called the representatives of the three construction companies in a meeting on June 11 to create an environment for the immediate completion of the construction. But out of the three, only Paudel, the representative of Ramsagar Construction Company, was present, it was decided to correspond, said San Bahadur Rai, Chairman of the Hospital Management Committee and Head of District Coordination Committee, Khotang.
In the meeting chaired by Rai, Chief District Officer Narahari Ghimire, Project Chief of the Okhaldhunga Project, Suraj Paudel, Heads and representatives of security agencies, Heads and representatives of political parties, Dr. Rupesh Sangraula, Head of District Hospital Khotang, has sent a letter to those involved in the construction to attend the construction site within the next three days. Rai has said that those associated with the construction will be brought from anywhere if they are not present at the specified time.
The meeting of Koshi state government on 12th of June had decided to upgrade the district hospital to 50 beds. But since the physical progress of the building is only 70 percent, the service expansion of 50 beds is in confusion. Rai says that until the building is completed and handed over to the hospital, the service of 50 beds cannot be expanded, so the construction should be completed anyway.
"The state government has already decided to upgrade the 50-bed hospital, but since the building is incomplete, it is not possible to expand the service to 50 beds," he said, "therefore, the building needs to be completed anyway."
