Four people were arrested with 200.39 grams of brown heroin from Bhadrapur-7 Animarg in Jhapa.
District Police Office Jhapa held a press conference today and made them public. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, based on confidential information, a team led by police inspector Lokkrishna Dahal from Ward Police Office Bhadrapur checked the Creta car number 01-03-C 0877 and recovered drugs, car and the mobile phone they were using.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Khadka, those arrested are Sajan Tamang, aged 31, resident of Nuwakot Belkotgarhi-13, Sajin Lama, aged 30, Dipesh Lama, aged 33, and Ram Tamang, aged 23, resident of Belkotgarhi-11. He said that the District Court, Jhapa, has taken seven days to investigate them for drug-related offences.
District Police Chief Superintendent of Police Rajan Limbu said that due to the recent increase in the use of private vehicles in drug dealing and transportation, surveillance has been increased. According to him, two thousand 405.165 grams of drugs have been recovered from Jhapa district so far in the current fiscal year 2081/082.
Similarly, according to the statistics of the District Police Office, two thousand 174.195 grams of drug brown heroin was seized in the last year 2080/081 and one thousand 558.459 grams in the year 2079/80.
