With the onset of monsoon, a joint disaster post has been established for the first time in the Himalayan district of Solukhumbu. Chief District Officer Asoj Kumar Ghimire informed that a dedicated joint disaster management post has been established at Garma, which is near the headquarters, to deal with disasters.

According to Prazia Ghimire, a team of security personnel trained by the Nepal Police and the Armed Police has been deployed by renting an office in Jorbauddha of Solududhakund municipality-7 so that they can be mobilized as soon as the information about the disaster comes.

At present, a team of 11 people live daily and all the items needed for the disaster are kept in the post. DSP Manoj Kunwar of Nepal Police said that equipment and vehicles used for rescue in the event of a possible flood and landslide have also been deployed. According to DSP Govind Pokhral of Armed Police, all trained security personnel are in the team and they will be mobilized as soon as information is received.

In the coordination of various local levels in the district, the materials used in the rescue have been collected and the post has been set up by renting a house for 3 months throughout the monsoon. Prazia Ghimire said that a separate mobile number has been arranged so that the post can be notified 24 hours a day.
