Phalelung Rural Municipality of Panchthar has completed the 11th village assembly by passing the policy-programme to reduce facilities if the representatives, employees and teachers within the municipality do not send their children to public schools.

This policy has been adopted saying that the implementation of the decision of this rural municipality, which decided that the children of public representatives, employees and teachers must be taught in public schools, is lax.

Contrary to the policy implemented by the rural municipality, it is mentioned in the policy and program to deduct 10 percent of the total amount of salaries, allowances and benefits received by public representatives, employees and teachers who teach children in private schools and deposit them into the internal revenue account.

The village council meeting held on Monday passed this policy unanimously, said Bharat Khapangi, spokesperson of the village council. The Village Assembly has included this provision in the Education Act. According to Khapangi, the Agriculture, Forestry Environment and Jinsi Auction Act has also been passed.

The village assembly has released a budget of 544.41 million 45 thousand 701 rupees for the next fiscal year. Phalelung aims to collect Rs 1 crore from internal revenue. Spokesperson Khapangi says that the number 5 Ward Office of Falelung has allocated a budget to run a clothing assistance program for the underprivileged, Dalit, poor and minority students in the ward.
