To control dengue, mosquito larvae were destroyed in Diktel market on Tuesday.
As the outbreak of dengue increases in rainy months, mosquito larvae have been searched and destroyed from Bhawangaira of Diktel Bazar to Kiratchowk for public awareness.
"Dictel Rupakot Mazhuwagadhi Municipality health department chief Khemraj Acharya said, "Diktel Rupakot Mazhuwagadhi Municipality's head of health department has searched for and destroyed the larvae of mosquito because the outbreak will increase during the rains - "The larvae have been destroyed as part of a campaign to raise public awareness about where mosquitoes lay their eggs and how they can be destroyed." People's representatives, district hospital doctor Puskal Rai and other health workers participated.
Before destroying the larvae, an orientation and discussion was organized with the stakeholders for the control of dengue and other insect diseases. Khemraj Acharya, Head of Municipal Health Branch, said that the program was organized by Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality Health Branch. Dr. Puskal Rai of District Hospital Khotang informed about the ways to avoid insect diseases including dengue.
