Two people have been detained by the police on the charge of cheating by using social media.
On the complaint of Pravika Rai of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-2, Shivkumar Now of Rupandehi Majgauwa and Juna Katwal of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-1 have been detained by the police.
Katwal was present at police office Khotang on Sunday and now on June 30. A complaint was lodged at the District Police Office on 9th June 2081 saying that Pravika had been instigated to invest money from Katwal's ID and 27,000 went into the Iseva account of Now and 2,24,000 into the account of Shivnath Barai of Ruppandehi Suryapura till 31st May 2081. Sushant Mishra, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Khotang, said that two people were detained based on that.
Another Shivnath Barai is absconding, police said. Mishra said that Katwal had given a statement to the police that he had hacked and misused his ID. In this case, the police have completed the investigation and submitted it to the public prosecutor's office. Mishra said, "They have taken a statement and sent it to the public prosecutor. In the statement, the hacker has given a statement that he misused his ID."
