After the electricity authority's office was moved away, Khandbari Municipality No. 4 ward office arranged to pay the fee in the ward. Chairman Vinod Gurung said that after residents complained that a lot of money was spent when they went to pay the electricity bill, arrangements were made to pay the bill in the ward.
According to Satrudhan Yadav, head of Khandbari distribution center, the electricity staff will go to the ward office every Sunday and Monday to collect bill payments.
Local Dhan Bahadur Bishwakarma said that the situation of having to spend 500 rupees to pay an electricity bill of 30 rupees after reaching the headquarters Khandbari has come to an end. On Monday, 11 thousand 745 rupees were collected from 44 people in one day.
According to the Authority, counters for collecting electricity tariffs will soon be established in the remote ward number 4 as well as in ward number 10 and 11 within the Khandbari municipality. After establishing the counter to collect the fee at the ward level, both the time and money of the local people have been saved.
