36-year-old Anita Shrestha, who gave birth by surgery at District Hospital Sankhuwasabha, was rescued by an army helicopter on Tuesday.

Anita of Sekaha, Khandbari Municipality-4 was delivered by surgery on 22nd June. After bleeding profusely on the sixth day, she was taken to the capital by an army helicopter for further treatment. She will be treated at the Charitable Maternity Hospital and Gynecology Hospital. Dr. Pradip Sriwal of District Hospital Sankhuwasabha said that the condition of the newborn is normal.

After treatment was not possible in the district, Bhawani Timsina, head of safe motherhood at the health office, said that she was rescued according to the air rescue procedure for pregnant and post-partum women whose lives are at risk in remote areas.
