A young man who went swimming in the river Tamor has gone missing. Shishir Rai, the 16-year-old son of Bhimkumar Rai, a resident of Phalelung Rural Municipality-7, Bhalu Khop, went swimming from Phidim Bazar on Saturday.

According to the District Police Office, he went missing while swimming. As soon as they received the information that Tamor had swept him away, the police said that even though the local people searched for the whole day along with the police rescue team sent from the District Police Office, Panchthar, they could not find him.

Local and police rescue teams have been mobilized to search for him since Sunday morning, the police said.
