Due to the risk of dengue infection in Taplejung, caution has been requested. The District Health Office has made such a request by involving local health workers, media personnel, Nepal Police and Armed Police, informing them about the risk of dengue infection and the precautions to be taken.

Stakeholders have also been requested to convey the message of caution to the community as summer has started and many citizens are not aware of it. The office said that it is preparing to search for the habitat of dengue-carrying mosquitoes and destroy the larvae and conduct a campaign related to dengue control.

Acting Head of the Health Office, Udayanarayan Dulal, said that the dengue infection that occurs in the hot areas including the Terai has recently started to appear in the hills and Himalayan areas, so it is necessary to take the program to the people. Last year, 45 people were infected with dengue.

Since it is more common in the Fungling municipality area where the capital is located, activities such as destroying larvae and removing water from stagnant places were carried out last year. Khawas said. According to him, as this type of infection is more common in the city than in the village, this year also the municipality has a program to prevent the infection.
