5 bridges in different wards of Bhotkhola rural municipality were swept away by the flood that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
According to District Police Office Sankhuwasabha Chief DSP Daksh Kumar Basnet, two 15/15 meter long bridges in the Dhungopa river connecting Bhotkhola 1, 2 and 1, 3 have been washed away. Likewise Votkhola The 15-meter-long Kathe bridge in the river at Ghangjung connecting 1 and 3 has also been washed away.
He said that the 20-meter-long Kathe bridge in the Chokang river connecting Bhotkhola 1 and 3 was swept away. According to him, the 15-meter long Kathe bridge in the Mapcha river connecting Bhotkhola 1 and 3 has also been washed away. Locals have said that floods and landslides have occurred in many places in Bhotkhola this year.
Chief District Officer Divyaraj Pokharel has asked the local residents to be alert to possible additional risks as it is still raining continuously in the upper areas.
