Koshi Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki has said that it is the need of the day to end caste discrimination and develop social unity and tolerance on the basis of justice, equality and inclusiveness.
Giving greetings on the occasion of the National Day for the Elimination of Caste Discrimination and Untouchability, Chief Minister Karki emphasized that all forms of discrimination should end.
He mentioned that this day was started to be celebrated during the institutionalization of the achievements achieved on the foundation of the historic people's movement of 2062/63 and said that the day when the nation was declared untouchable carried a national resolve to end all forms of discrimination.
Chief Minister Karki emphasized that to fulfill the national aspiration of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali', we must move forward by ending discrimination and perverse culture. Mentioning that Nepal is a multi-lingual, multi-ethnic and multi-cultural country, he opined that unity within diversity is the basis of national prosperity.
