Sunsari police have recovered a large quantity of marijuana from the banks of the Katan River located on the border of Ward No. 5 and 6 of Harinagar Rural Municipality.

The police recovered 1,120 kilos of ganja hidden by sand in the banks of the river on Tuesday night. On the basis of a secret information that narcotic marijuana is being kept hidden, 38 sacks of marijuana were recovered while being buried under the sand during the search at that place. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Yograj Khatiwada informed that the recovered ganja has been brought to the District Police Office Sunsari for further investigation.  District Police Office Sunsari has informed that further investigation related to the

incident is underway.
