With the aim of inspiring entrepreneurship among the youth, the National Youth Council has started the Youth Entrepreneurship Promotion Conference campaign from Tuesday. The conference was started from Biratnagar in Koshi region.
Surendra Basnet, executive vice-chairman of the council, said that orientation was given to the youth at the provincial level and for this, a panel discussion was held including personalities from policy making to implementation level, from government to private, from entrepreneurs to experts, from industry and commerce to banking sector. According to him, after Biratnagar, the conference will be organized in Janakpur of Madhesh province, Pokhara of Gandaki province, Surkhet of Karnali province and Kathmandu of Bagmati province. The
conference will be attended by young entrepreneurs between the ages of 16 and 40 who are selected based on online applications. It is said that open discussions, debates and interactions in various fields of entrepreneurship promotion will be included in the conference. In the opening program of the
conference, Physical Infrastructure Development Minister Bhupendra Rai, State MP Jangbo Sherpa, Morang Industry Association President Rakesh Surana and other guests participated. Speaking at the conference, Saroj Koirala, the CEO of the State Investment Authority, highlighted the possibility of youth entrepreneurship in the state and the exit entrepreneurship, employment and skill development session for the youth, which was the last session of the conference. Chief Minister Hikmat Karki's economic adviser, Mohan Kumar Subedi, highlighted the government's youth friendly scheme.
Rishabh Bhattarai, Chief Branch Manager of National Commercial Bank, explained the subject of getting loans at cheap interest rates for entrepreneurship to the youth. Umesh Prasad Kharel, State Director of Technical Education and Vocational Training Council CTEVT, highlighted the issue of making Arya Arjan easier through technical education. Former Chief Minister Kedar Karki said that the youth can be independent only if they have some skills.
