The students of various schools run in Fidim Municipality who performed well in the fifteenth district level President's Running Shield have been honored by the municipality.
By organizing a special ceremony, the municipality honored the sports teachers, managers and principals of all the schools along with the 87 students who competed in different 66 categories in the district-level President's Running Shield held in Hillihang Rural Municipality of the district from 15th to 17th May. In the competition organized at the Jorpokhari Mavi Sports Ground located in Hilihang-6, the students of Fidim managed to occupy the first place by winning 42 medals including 24 gold, 13 silver and 5 bronze out of 66 categories. Mayor Mitraprasad Kafle, Chief Administrative Officer Kumar Bhattarai, Fidim-1 Ward President Gajadhar Bhattarai, Ward No. 4 President Upendra Lavati, Head of Education and Sports Branch Nirmala Dahal and District Sports Development Committee President Santosh Moktan honored the medal winning students in the
program.
Meanwhile, Fidim municipality announced that the students who will be selected for the nationwide competition from the Koshi state-level presidential running shield competition, which will be held from May 22 to 24, will be honored with 10,000 cash per student. Nationwide Presidential Running Shield is being organized in Kathmandu from May 28 to 31.
Yangvarak Rural Municipality was able to occupy the second place with 23 gold, 14 silver and 13 bronze in the district level competition held in Jorpokhari. .
Similarly, Falgunand Rural Municipality came third with 8 gold, 6 silver and 14 bronze medals, while Hillihang managed to become fourth with 4 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze medals.
Similarly, while Miklajung rural municipality won 2 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze medals, Kummayak managed to win 2 gold and 3 bronze medals.
Similarly, Phalelung rural municipality won 2 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze medals, while Tumwewa rural municipality won 1, gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.
Fidim Municipality has already won the Presidential Running Shield three times.
