With the arrival of this year's monsoon from the eastern region, there has been heavy rainfall in Sunsari, Morang, Jhapa, Dhankuta and other districts of Koshi province. The Weather Forecast Division has reported that rain is occurring in different areas of Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari and Dhankuta.

In the morning, the division sent mobile SMS to the residents of these areas and said that heavy rainfall has been measured in many places in those districts.

The department has said that there is a possibility of more rain till the afternoon. According to the

division, due to continuous rains, there is a possibility of reaching the flood alert level in small rivers and streams including Mechi of Ilam, Biring of Jhapa, Ninda, Kankai, Chisang Khola of Morang, Mawa-Ratuwa, Lohandra, Bakraha, Budhi Khola of Sunsari. Residents around those areas are advised to take special precautions, stay away from river banks, and move to safer places if necessary.
