Due to incessant rains, the road was washed away on Friday night in the Leuti river located in Sangurigarhi Rural Municipality-6, and the Mulghat-Simsuwakhand section of Dhankuta on the Koshi highway was blocked.

According to the police, about 80 meters of tarred road was washed away in Fedi located in Sangurigarhi Rural Municipality-6. After the road was washed away, the transport and transportation of the eastern hill districts including Dhankuta, Tehrathum, Bhojpur, Tamor corridor including Sankhuwasabha, Panchthar and Taplejung have been stopped.

Hundreds of passengers are stranded at that place. Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police have been deployed to rescue them. Chief District Officer Tubraj Pakharel said that rescue efforts are underway. Similarly, at 6:40 am on Saturday morning, the Tamor Corridor road section under construction in Choubise rural municipality-4 of Dhankuta was also blocked. Due to incessant rains, it is reported that the road has collapsed due to flooding in Charuwa Khol. Vehicular movement has stopped on both sides.
