It has become difficult to make a diversion on the Leuti road section of the Koshi highway which was blocked by the flood of the Leuti river located in Sangurigarhi Rural Municipality-6 of Dhankuta. Diversion could not be made due to flooding in Leuti river.

When the road was washed away by the flood caused by the incessant rain, about 50 meters of black paper road was washed away in the Fedhi area of Dhankuta under the Koshi highway . After that, dozens of vehicles were stopped at the same place. Efforts are being made to make a diversion in the affected Moolghat-Simsuwa section, the Road Division Office said.

After the road was washed away, vehicles and transport vehicles moving towards Panchthar and Taplejung through Tehrathum, Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha and Tamor corridor along with Dhankuta have been stopped . Chief District Officer Tuvraj Pokhrel said that the dozer and excavator could not be delivered to the damaged place for diversion as the flood of Leuti river has not subsided yet.

He said that an attempt is being made to send the stopped passengers to their destination by using the surrounding vehicles. An alternative route for pedestrians is being constructed at that place. It is said that the diversion work will be started after the flood subsides in the river.
