Active journalists in Panchthar Radha Luitel and Jitendra Bhandari have been awarded. On the occasion of the 34th Foundation Day of Nepal Press Union, Panchthar Correspondent of Gorkhapatra Dainik Radha Luitel and Image Television Correspondent Jitendra Bhandari were awarded with cash prizes.
Late Deoman Kerung Memorial Journalism Award distributed by Press Union Panchthar was given to Luitel and Late Lokman Baskota Memorial Journalism Award to Bhandari. The amount of both the prizes is equal to ten thousand rupees.
Both honors and awards are being distributed every year on the occasion of Nepal Press Union's foundation day. Meanwhile, Press Union Panchthar has also taken collective accident insurance for 95 journalists and media workers working in the district. Khabin Luitel, President of Union Panchthar, said that along with journalists working in
district, journalists working in radio, newspapers and online have been insured for mass accidents.
