This was a house in the name of property. That too was blown away by the wind. Now where to live, what to eat?' 37-year-old Kumari Bayalkoti of Udaipurgarhi Rural Municipality-8 Gadre is now living. Kumari's family is now forced to live under the open sky after the storm that hit at 4 pm on Wednesday destroyed the one-storey house made of wood and tin.
'In the year 2078, the ward office had installed a tin roof because it was extremely poor, Wednesday's storm not only blew away the tin, but all the grains and clothes in the house were blown away, where should we go now?' Kumari's family consists of a 12-year-old daughter, a 6-year-old son and a husband.
"My 39-year-old husband, who is paralyzed due to drug-related diseases, cannot work, I also had a stomach surgery, I cannot do heavy work, and it is difficult to support the family," Kumari said. The ward office gave 2 goats as a subsidy when the economic situation was also miserable and they could not eat outside. Kumari also made a cage to raise pigs. But the wind blew everything away .
"I was going to the village, suddenly there was a big wind, I got scared because the children were at home, the household items fell down and cut off my daughter's leg. After screaming, the neighbor's sister took her daughter to the forest and left her. Some lives were saved, but the only house in the name of the property was blown away," she said .
After the water that came with the storm entered the house, clothes, food and other things in the house were damaged. Kumari's family is now living in a neighbor's shelter. Where to stay, what to eat, even the children are missing, the house is also in a lonely place, from whom to ask for help? "There is no one for the poor," Kumari said.
She told that her husband (Netra Bahadur Sarki) who is dying of drug addiction has no money to give medicine and the problem is getting more complicated. He says that since there is no source of income in the house, it is difficult to run the house. "I am sick myself, where do I go to look for work, when I go to look for work, there is no one to look after my children at home, I asked a relative for a loan and had a stomach surgery, apart from paying the loan, life has become a mess," she said.
Ward President Thir Bahadur Raut said that he was informed about the burning of Kumari's house, but since there was no budget at the end of the financial year, he suggested to contact the rural municipality. "After the police prepare the land bond, I will take the initiative to provide some land through the rural municipality," he said.
Kumari's house also has a problem with drinking water due to the fact that the house is located on the hill. ``I have to walk for half an hour to get food and water, I can't carry heavy things, my daughter is too young, I'm working hard,'' she said
