Police have arrested two people with 51 kg of ganja from Sangurigarhi-6, Bhedetar Chowk in Dhankuta.

The police said that while checking the passenger EV vehicle No. 1-02-001 J 4480 which was going from Tehrathum to Itahari, the cannabis was found in a zebra bag and two sacks placed on the roof.

26-year-old Lakshmi Rai, resident of Shaheedbhoomi Rural Municipality-7, was taken into custody for necessary action, District Police Spokesperson DSP Omprakash Khanal said.

The driver of the vehicle, 37-year-old Prakash Gurung, resident of Mangalung Municipality-7, Tehrathum, has also been detained for investigation, he said.
