A child of Fedap Rural Municipality-1 of Tehrathum, who was kept in a cage for two months, was rescued on Wednesday evening.

8-year-old Suhang Limbu of Somkumar Limbu, who lives in his in-laws' house at Parevadin, Chatharjorpati Rural Municipality-5 of Dhankuta, was kept in a cage by his family because he was not mentally stable. After getting the information on social media, the team deployed from Sidhuwa police station rescued the child.

District police spokesperson DSP Omprakash Khanal said that even the shed built by Tati Bera had to be demolished and counseled to keep the child with the parents in a humane manner. He said, "They made Tati's bera shed and locked him up for 2 months because he was not mentally stable," he said. He said that coordination is being done to take the child to his permanent address in Tehrathum on Thursday and prepare the necessary documents including birth certificate and send him to Kathmandu for treatment.
