A private car carrying four MPs of Koshi province was hit by a vehicle driven by DSP of Nepal Police.
While going from Jhapa to Morang on the east-west highway, the car number BAE 1406 was hit by the vehicle number BA 5 C 3530 coming from the opposite direction on Monday afternoon.
According to DSP Bed Prakash Joshi of District Police Office Morang, the vehicle in which the MPs were riding belonged to MP Maia Shrestha Lavati, while the vehicle that collided was driven by DSP Khagendra Khadka of District Police Office Jhapa. Joshi also said that the vehicle that hit and the driver, DSP Khanal, have been brought under investigation.
MP Lavati said that while going to attend the meeting of the Koshi State Assembly, the vehicle they were riding in was hit by a vehicle driven by the police DSP. "We were going slowly, the vehicle coming from the opposite direction was speeding, and while avoiding it, it hit the back wheel," MP Lavati said.
The MPs of Koshi Pradesh Radhakrishna Khanal, Nambarlal Dhimal, Vidya Chamling and the driver Bheshraj Shrestha were riding in the car along with Lavati. Chamling and Dhimal are slightly injured.
