The temporary bailibridge at Foxingtar under the Sagarmatha Lokmarg (Gaighat-Diktel road) has been opened from Monday. After the opening of the Beili Bridge, which was built after the flood of October 12th, the bridge was washed away, the direct transport link with the Terai has been severed.

According to Pashupati Gyawali, chief planning engineer of the Gaighat-Diktel road scheme, the opening of the bailey bridge has been started in view of the rising water level. Aryan Construction Multipurpose Pvt Ltd Udaipur Katari has taken the contract for installing and opening the belay bridge at a cost of one crore two lakh rupees.

After the connection of the Belybridge, it was operational from 27th of January. A 50-meter belay bridge has been installed at that place. The said Belybridge connected Khotehang Rural Municipality-9 Lichkiramche and Rautamai Rural Municipality-6 Aamtar of Udaipur .

Locals have said that the price of daily necessities and other materials will increase when the transport link between Khotang and Terai is cut off after the removal of Belibridge. Rajan Acharya, President of Khotang Industry and Commerce Association, said that the price of consumer goods will not increase. Consumables have been stored even before the opening of Beilibridge, there is no shortage, said Acharya.
