The 'First Sidingwa Dham Tourism Festival 2082' is going to be held for the promotion of Sidingwa Dham, a religious tourist site that is colder in winter. Sidingwa rural municipality is going to hold a three-day religious tourism festival from June 15 to 17.
At an altitude of 3,515 meters, there will be events including art, literature, creativity, and sports. "There are four main tourist spots in this rural municipality namely Dhangdhange Waterfall, Timbung Pokhari, Chamere Gufa and Sidingwadham," said Man Bahadur Rai, chairman of the rural municipality, "It is the responsibility of the rural municipality to bring in tourists by publicizing and promoting them." It is also expected that the festival will help in the conservation of biological diversity, the development of rural and international tourism and the promotion of cultural heritage, said village chairman Rai. Sidingwa Dham is the main entrance of Kanchenjunga trek.
The chief administrative officer of the village, Bikas Vick, said that the three-day tourism festival will include Sidingwadham Darshan Yatra, volleyball competition, display of local products, and cultural performances. Village Vice President Krishna Kumari Kadaria (Bandana) informed that in the
festival, Naumati Baja, Chabrung Nach (Kehlang), Sakela Cello will be performed based on local community-based rituals and culture. For the festival Bhupendra Budhakshetri, head of the economic administration branch of the rural municipality, informed that it will cost 38 lakh rupees.
