Traffic, electricity and telephone services have been interrupted due to the flood that occurred in Sabhapokhari Rural Municipality-4 of Sankhuwa Sabha on Thursday night.
According to the Vice President of Sabhapokhari Rural Municipality, Lakshmi Chapagai, traffic, electricity and telephones have been disrupted in Sabhapokhari Rural Municipality-3, 4 and 6, including the wards due to the landslides that came with the rain. The flood swept away roads and electric poles in various wards. She said that all the services in that area have been disrupted since Friday after the flood swept away the poles.
The flood has also damaged the 21 MW Sabhapokhari hydropower under construction in Sabhapokhari rural municipality-4. The flood has washed away the construction materials of the hydropower plant. Half a dozen houses have been displaced in various wards of Sabhapokhari due to floods. She said that the rural municipality has started collecting information about the displaced people and the damage caused by the flood.
