Amidst the recent political situation, the Koshi state level security meeting is starting from Wednesday in Biratnagar. This meeting is seen as particularly important in terms of the instability seen at the provincial and federal levels, attempts to form a government and possible protests.
Chief District Officers of all 14 districts under Koshi, Nepal Police, Armed Police, Head of National Investigation Department will participate in the meeting to be held at Hotel Asiatic in Biratnagar.
According to the Chief District Officer of Morang, Indradev Yadav, a presentation will be made about the current security situation, challenges and problems at the local level from the participating districts. After that, it is said that there will be a special address by Federal Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar. The minister has arrived in Biratnagar on Tuesday morning. He is scheduled to visit various institutions including prisons.
The security meeting will be attended by Home Secretary, Inspector General of Nepal Police (IGP), Chief of Armed Police Force, Chief Investigation Director of National Investigation Department and security officers of state and district levels.
The latest political situation, upcoming elections, increasing criminal activities in border areas and social crimes will also be discussed in detail in the meeting.
Government officials say that the meeting will be decisive to ensure peace, stability and good governance in the province by making the security mechanism more agile and effective.
