Panchkarna Rai, 51, of Salle Upper Chichinga, Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-9, who was injured by his wife's beating, died. On Saturday morning, 53-year-old wife Renuka Rai, who was injured in a beating, died during treatment.
Sushant Mishra, Information Officer of District Police Office, Khotang, said that Rai, who was injured by a spade during a dispute while working in the cornfield in the morning, died on Saturday evening during treatment at Annapurna Neuro Hospital, Kathmandu. When it was not possible to take the injured Rai to a city hospital in Durchim for treatment, he was taken to Kathmandu by helicopter.
Mishra said that Renuka was arrested on Saturday morning. He said that the investigation into the duty killing case has been extended by five days on Sunday.
