Vinod Basnet, former president of Jhapa Gold Cup and young entrepreneur of Birtamod, was found dead at home. According to District Police Office Jhapa, Basnet was found hanging in her residence in Birtamod Municipality-1.
Basnet, who has been playing an active role in social service, business and institutional leadership, was associated with many associations. He was also the former president of Jhapa Gold Cup Organizing Committee, former national executive vice president of Nepal Jaycees, former president of Virata Jaycees and Rotary Club of Birtamode.
Basnet was a working committee member of Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Province-1, general secretary of Mechi Petroleum Dealers Association, co-coordinator of 'One for One' campaign, president of Samaj Jhapa, and director of various business establishments including Sayapatri Trade Link.
52-year-old Basnet's death is being further investigated by the police.
