One person was killed due to lightning strike in Atharai rural municipality-3 of Tehrathum. Local Police Inspector Deepak Gautam of the area police office Sankranti informed that the deceased is 45-year-old Sagar Thinglabu.
Thinglabu was struck by lightning at 3.30 pm on Monday. Thinglabu, who was working to build a manghim (temple) in Atharai-3 Hwaku, was struck by lightning along with thunder.
He was injured due to lightning and was brought to Panchthar District Hospital for treatment and the doctor declared him dead.
