Rajesh Gurung's 'Mikta' has won the title in the Chaunri competition held in Sirijunga Rural Municipality-8 Yamfudin. Dawa Sherpa's "Pange" and Milan Adhikari's "Gyangsa" came third in the competition organized to promote chauri.
The Chounri competition was also a category under the competition organized with the aim of promoting Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world and the second highest in Nepal. In the competition, 17 chaunri palak farmers brought chaunri for their chaunri competition.
tourism festival coordinator and village vice president Chitra Mabo said that the decision was made by looking at the appearance, color, age, nutrition, body thickness, horns, tail, habits, etc. of the chaunri. Mabo said that even though the first, second, and third classes were separated, the incentive amount was given at the same rate of 28 thousand five hundred and 86 rupees. It is mentioned that similar prizes were given to the sheds taken from outside.
The municipality said that the competition was organized to promote the chaunri profession which is declining. Khagen Singh Hangam, Minister of Industry, Agriculture and Cooperatives of Koshi State Government, awarded the farmers. After observing the
competition, Minister Hangam has promised that the provincial government will manage a proper budget for the promotion of Chounri.
