The armed police have seized one quintal of 21 kg of banned drug ganja while it was being carried in a car from Sangurigarhi rural municipality-6 of Dhankuta on Koshi highway.
Inspector of Armed Police Jitendra Basnet informed that this quantity of ganja was seized while it was being taken from Dhankuta to Dharan in a car number 2 P 1734. He said that the car, which ran away after seeing the team deployed at the disaster management base of the Armed Police Force at Moolghat, was found crashed into the wall on the side of the road.
It is reported that marijuana was found in the car during the investigation on the basis of suspicion that it had escaped. The driver has left the vehicle and is absconding. It is said that the search for him is continuing. Similarly, Police Inspector Basnet said that the seized cannabis will be handed over to the Nepal Police by the Armed Police.
