Cycling to the southern base camp of Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world and the second highest in Nepal. The team of Avishek Maden, Anish Tamang, Dipsagar Tamang and Nima Sherpa, the operators of Dharan Mountain Bike Network, reached the Oktang base camp by cycling.

Chitra Mawo, the vice chairman of the rural municipality, informed that cycling was carried out on the pedestrian path of Nayazhoreni-Tarungden-Chairam-Ramjer to Oktangak in Sirijunga Rural Municipality-8 Yamfudin. Mawo said that this sent a message that this area is suitable for cycling. It is at a height of 4800 meters.

Mavo also claims that it was the first time cycling to the Kanchenjunga base camp. Sirijunga Rural Municipality organized the Kanchenjunga Tourism Festival 2082 from May 15th to 17th. On this occasion, four riders from Dharan cycled from Thungim to Oktang in Yamphudin, the 8th ward office of the municipality. The rider said that he only had to carry it in a few places.

The area from Oktang to Thungim is considered as a base camp with a close view of the Himalayan region.

Ryder has given the municipality to do competitive cycling in the coming days. The rural municipality believes that by promoting it, foreign riders will come and tourism will be promoted.
