Shantiram Dulal of Sinjalitar, Mai Municipality-4 of Ilam has killed his elder mother-in-law by hitting her with a machete.

42-year-old Dulal hit 52-year-old mother-in-law Bhumika Chapagai on the head at 7 pm on Friday.

She was seriously injured by a knife attack and died at 10.30 pm at V&C Hospital in Virtamod, Jhapa, Chapagai District Police Office, Ilam.

Shanti Ram's case is going on in Elam court with his wife. A few months ago, during the hearing of the same case, the locals said that there was a dispute between the son-in-law and the elder sister who had gathered in the court premises. After the

controversy, Bhumika even filed a contempt case against Shanti Ram. The police said that Shanti Ram shot Bhumika in the same Receipt.

Shanti Ram has been arrested by the police. It is said that the incident is being investigated.
