A house has been provided to Kshitij Rai of Kepilasgarhi Rural Municipality-7 Sungdel, who was in trouble after the landslide destroyed his house. The house was handed over to him on Friday, which was built by collecting donations on the initiative of the local people, who was in trouble after the house was destroyed by a landslide during the drought of last year.
According to Samir Rai, President of Kepilasgarhi Rural Municipality, they have provided a house covered with stone-mud-zinc sheet along with 13 annas of land.
About 9 lakhs has been spent for the said real estate. Out of this, the rural municipality has provided one and a half lakh rupees for the construction of houses, Rai said. In addition, Rai said that the rural municipality is providing stationery and clothes for Rai's family to eat and study.
Rai's family has a family of five including mother, two sisters and one brother. Among them, 45-year-old mother Sharda is physically challenged, elder sister Deepa Rai is studying in class-7 in local Surya Mavi, younger sister Nisha in class-5 and younger brother Muskan in class-3 and Kshitij in class 10.
A donation collection campaign was started in conjunction with Koyi Rai Samaj Khotang to build a house for the families of the landslide victims of Chitij. Rai's family, who became homeless after the landslide destroyed their house, were living in a neighbor's house.
