The Electricity Development Department has formed a committee to investigate the traffic accident that took place in Pathibhara area on Monday.
Sandeep Dev, spokesperson of the department informed that a four-member investigation committee has been formed under the leadership of senior engineer Nutan Sharma. According to Dev, there are Shalikram Bhandari and Narayan Shrestha of the department and a professor from Pulchok Engineering College has been kept as a member of the committee.
Coordinator Sharma informed that they will soon reach the incident site and study and submit a report to the department. "We will study how the incident happened, how the wire was stolen, etc.," he said. "We will start work soon and if we can, then we can do other work," said Sharma.
A jeep going to Kaflepati from headquarters Fungling was electrocuted by a wire hanging from a pole. Four people in the jeep died on the spot. One person is still being treated in Kathmandu.
Vinod Paudel of Jhapa Bhadrapur, Sarita Paudel and their granddaughter Adhya Acharya of Lalitpur and jeep driver Durga Bhattarai of Taplejung Phungling died on the spot. Savina Paudel Acharya was severely injured in the accident. Sabina's son managed to avoid the accident. The jeep carrying five passengers was electrocuted near Sevaro Chowk.
