French citizens Rajjok Kais and Nadindenise Angel Michel, who went to Kanchenjunga Base Camp in Paktanglung Rural Municipality-6 Lelep, were taken to Kathmandu by helicopter after falling ill. 49-year-old Rajjok and 72-year-old Michel were returned from Ghunsa, the local police office Ghunsa informed.

They reached the base camp in Pangpe on 3rd Baisakh. Tourism businessmen of Ghunsa said that after he fell ill, he was brought to Ghunsa at a height of 3100 meters by the locals and the police and brought back by Manang Air helicopter.

At the moment, foreign tourists are in the Kanchenjunga area. Ravi Rawal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Taplejung, says that due to the high presence of foreigners and the mountain climbing season, the police of Tapethok, Lelep, Ghunsa, Olangchungola and Yakfudin have been instructed to be alert and mobilized for immediate rescue.

At the end of Baisakh, more than 100 foreign and local people are at the base camp of Kanchenjunga Himal to climb the third highest mountain in the world.
