The defendant, who was sentenced to 11 years, nine months and four days for extortion, murder and theft, has been arrested by the police after 11 years.
Vivek Basnet, Information Officer of District Police Office, Taplejung informed that the police arrested Tejkumar Limbu, who is now 44 years old and is currently living in Damak Municipality of Jhapa, from Paktanglung Rural Municipality-1 Savadin.
He was absconding after committing a criminal incident and returned to Qatar and Malaysia as well, according to the police. He went to the house of a 36-year-old woman on the evening of January 7, 2070, forced her to perform sexual intercourse and stole one lakh rupees. Basnet said that Limbu was absconding after injuring his brother-in-law who came to the rescue of the screaming woman after being attacked.
District Court Taplejung sentenced him to six years and six months imprisonment and a fine of 200,000 rupees in the case of extortion and theft under the judgment of 2076 Jyeshtha 28. Five years of imprisonment has been decided in the murder industry case.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Rawal informed that the prison was run according to the order of the district court.
